Howdy everyone I’m William. I’m the true geek and boss of the farm. Forget what the other Farmhands say, I make sure all runs good at the farm; making sure the cows keep milking and the chickens keep laying. Born in 1978, I have been a computer nerd all my life if asked I AM the man in Charge. Even so, I couldn’t do it with out my friends and family at the farm. Why (I think) Ubuntu is Better Than Windows

When comparing operating systems people tend to roll out the same old reasons every time. I think those of us who use Ubuntu are already aware that we have less viruses than Windows, less malware, it’s free of cost and so on. I’m sure we’ve pointed out plenty of times that you’re legally entitled to copy the CD and even create your own remix.

New Microsoft Windows 8 Plans Leaked: In Depth Details Revealed

Long story short, these slide decks are chock full of internal thinking on Windows 8 — everything from customer target audiences to the Windows 8 developer market to the Windows 8 product cycle and much, much more.

As a preface, I’ve taken many screen shots of relevant slides for inclusion with this article, so click on them to see their full-sized versions. I’ll elaborate on some and allow the others to explain themselves. Lastly, I’ll be updating this post as I find more contained within the slide decks. Now, without further adieu, let’s get started!

Picking up Steam for Mac Games

While not meaning to get too steamed up about things, it is a good link to something my pal in Phoenix put me on to. Half Life 2, a multi-award winning game in the PC world, has arrived on the Mac courtesy of Steam and at a very reasonable £2.37 at time of writing, or £4.68 when the special offer runs out.

Adobe Filed Software Piracy Lawsuits in Europe

The SIIA (Software & Information Industry Association) filed the first pile of copyright lawsuits in Europe on behalf of its member Adobe Systems Inc.

As the part of the association’s new anti-piracy campaign within the Europe, SIIA examined and filed 3 lawsuits against those German and British who used to sell counterfeit or illegal Adobe programs on eBay. As the cases are still ongoing, the names and IDs of the sellers can’t be revealed now.

iPad Safe or Not? Hackers say “Not”

Hackers have always been playing around and stealing private information, sometimes for fun and sometimes to use it but mostly for fun. This time they played the hacking game with Apple iPad!!

Warner Bros. Accused of Stealing Anti-Piracy Technology

It is not news that movie companies have started an aggressive approach trying to go after the websites providing access to unauthorized downloads as well as their customers in a desperate effort to fight digital piracy. Recently some of them were introducing DRM technology in order to prevent the use of their copyrighted digital works in the Internet.
